Applications

In the case of complex joint fractures, our anatomical replicas allow the surgeons to interact with the anatomy with the aim of:

  • Simulating the reduction of fracture fragments
  • Pre-modeling the means of synthesis on the HA3D® model 
  • Knowing the exact spatial position of the fragments

The advantages offered by HA3D® models for Orthopedic Surgery are particularly relevant in the context of revision surgeries, since the revision systems that are performed intra-operative are linked to the impossibility of simulating the surgery correctly. Thus, these Medical Devices allow the surgeon to:

  • Accurately evaluate the correlations between implants and the patient’s anatomical situation
  • Size and predict the new prosthetic implant
  • Identify the best surgical strategy

The HA3D® reconstruction in Oncology is extremely useful to understand the relationships with the intra- and extra-skeletal anatomical structures and with the visceral organs.

In addition, these three-dimensional models allow the doctor to plan the optimal margins of tumor resection, in order to evaluate the opportunity of a reconstruction with off the shelves implants.

We support the doctor through the design of custom made surgical guides, starting from the HA3D® reconstruction up to the physical realization of the cutting template.

The PSI meets the clinical and pathological needs of the patient, also offering the possibility to interact with standard instrumentation. There are many types of devices; among these, cutting, resection and correction guides, all aimed towards a more precise and safer execution of the surgery, with a more predictable outcome.

The design of the HA3D® surgical guides uses various guarantees to ensure an optimal result:

  • Use of a certified and medical grade software
  • Use of biocompatible and sterilizable materials
  • Constant and direct interface with the surgeon during the design and planning of the case

The use of HA3D® to support Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Surgery is mainly used in three fields: Traumatology, Oncology, Deformities.

In the oncological field, the HA3D® reconstructions allow to simulate the whole demolitive and reconstructive phases of the surgery, including peroneal (or iliac) osteotomies. 

In addition, it is possible to simulate the synthesis of fragments at the mandibular level by pre-modeling the plates.

All surgical guides are customized according to the specific needs of the surgery, both in terms of clinical habits and instrumentation.

HA3D® allows to plan  a restore, from a functional and aesthetic point of view, of both congenital and acquired defects, simulating their outcomes. 

The reconstruction is effective in the study of the clinical case, with the aim of performing a less invasive and safer surgery.
